The Lost Seas
General Elias of Minthur is a middle-aged human with prematurely grey hair and an intense black-eyed gaze. The fourth son of the noble house Minthur, Elias knew he was unlikely to inherit a significant role in his family’s activities and took advantage of his martial proclivity, joining the Tyrian Guard as a non-commissioned officer. Elias worked his way up the ranks, but was limited in his advance because he was not a templar. He helped command efforts to secure Tyrian territory during the Urik-Nibenay war a decade ago, and formed a good bridge between the despised templar commanders (some of whom had only studied the military academically) and the officers.
With the assassination of Kalak, many templar commanders in the Guard were killed by their subordinates and many others retired to positions in the military academy or in civil administration. This paved the way for Elias and other officers to be swiftly promoted up the ranks. Elias soon become second-in-command to Strategos Gevello, and Gevello began to rely heavily on him for advice.
