This ancient bronze barbuta is covered with intricate spiral designs and seems to hearken from the Green Age, thousands of years in Athas’ past. Known for its powerful defencive magic, it was worn by Drewet, a commander in the Urikite military under General Akkad. The night before the Battle of the Black Wash, she gave the helm to General Akkad, her lover, in order to help protect him. It was she who died during the next day’s great battle, while Akkad survived.
Tormented by the events of the Battle, Akkad walked down to Crownpoint and hurled the helm into the reeds and steaming mud of the shore of the Lake of Golden Dreams, where it was discovered by Fa’ar, a halfling defiler and former member of the Urikite army. Over the next decade, Fa’ar retained the helm as he lived in his marshy lair. When the Zatla Cowboys tracked down the helm and arrived at the Lake of Golden Dreams, Fa’ar attempted to eat them and was slain for his troubles. Drewet’s helm passed into their possession.
