The Lost Seas
Map of the Red Chord
Discovered in the belt pouch of the mul commander of The Red Chord, this large map is a very detailed representation of the Tyr region (Tyr and the surroundings, within several days’ travel from the city) executed on durable vellum. The map contains no formal written language (indicating it was created by or for someone mostly illiterate), but does include dozens or hundreds of markings indicating the exact locations of nearby villages, forts, estates, known oases, and the like.
Most interestingly, dates (written with the crude ideograms that common people use) mark the movements of the Crimson Legion (represented by the Legion’s symbol, a purple double-headed spear) over the past few months, patrolling the area outside Tyr. Curiously, there are also several dates marked that have not yet occurred, two or three weeks hence.
