The Lost Seas
This small fortified outpost is House Inika’s supply point for its trade to Urik and Tyr and, during times of war with Nibenay, with Raam and Draj as well. Inika’s emblem (a gold circle on a black field) flies from the walls.
Fort Skonz isn’t a mighty fort; its walls are less than half the size of Altaruk’s 15-foot-plus walls, and inside it is mostly a collection of tents and shacks with a lot of empty space for caravans to pull up with their goods and animals. About 50 House Inika employees run the fort and guard its gate. It’s stacked with agafari, spices, kola nuts, and the like; at one point, it was a major slave transit point, but that has recently ended. When the Crimson Legion came through during the month of Smolder in the Year of the Wind’s Reverance, they demanded the gates be opened. Finding slaves destined for Urik, they freed them and warned House Inika not to use Fort Skonz for slave transit any longer. This has caused a bit of a ruckus, as it is a major source of income for Inika, and the general sentiment is that the Legion has gone far beyond Tyr’s traditional scope. But they have adhered to the order, out of fear, and there are no slaves in the fort.
